Our 10-voice chancel choir and 10-member handbell choir represent approximately 20% of the church membership. Choir is a community within a community. It is a time of fun and fellowship, as well as hard work, prayer, and study. The preparation of choral texts presents an opportunity for further immersion in God's Word. The process of learning music and developing it into a form of prayer intensifies awareness of the power of music to minister to God's people.
Those involved in the music ministry at Mayesville Presbyterian Church are committed to cherishing this gift from God, to being good stewards of it, and to doing all within our ability to present music that enhances worship and provides an environment conducive to drawing worshippers into closer relationship with God.
Just as our worship is traditional, so is our music. We are greatly blessed to have a well-maintained pipe organ to support congregational hymn-singing and choral music, as well as a Baldwin grand piano. From time to time throughout the year, guest musicians such as brass and string players join us to lend added richness to the service.
In addition to Sunday worship and seasonal services, the church's music ministry offers as a gift to the wider community the traditional Service of Nine Lessons and Carols and a hymn festival. Both are part of a series of community offerings, called "Rejoicings," that includes two concerts. Beginning with the 2023/24 season, the hymn festival will transition from being an annual event to becoming a biennial event held in alternation with a Bible conference. (Read more about this on the "Rejoicings Series" page.) All events in the series are presented as a free offering to the community.

The stated mission of the Women's Ministries of Mayesville Presbyterian Church is as follows.
The scope of Women's Ministries is broad. It encompasses every aspect of the life of the congregation while reaching beyond our walls to serve needs within the community, the county, and the world.
The Women of the Church care for our worship environment by providing such elements as flower arrangements, candles, and paraments. They are the force behind receptions that welcome visitors with warm hospitality, and congregational meals that celebrate and strengthen the ties that bind us. By staffing the nursery, they make it possible for parents and grandparents of small children to attend worship services. Through notes, cards, and care packages, they support our youth and college students. They are always at the ready to tend to needs that arise at times of illness, birth, and death.
Beyond our walls, they work on behalf of the ministries of Feed My Starving Children, Camp Joy, Outreach North America, Erskine College and Seminary, and the missionaries of World Mission.
The Women of the Church are committed to and sustained by prayer, study, and fellowship with one another. Through their ministry, they offer an example both within our church family and beyond of prayerful, servant living.
Women's Ministries Circle meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month (except July and August). Meetings are held on a rotating basis at the homes of members. Gatherings include fellowship, prayer, study, and preparation for various church events and outreach ministries. Meeting times and locations vary. Please contact the church office for information.
